There were four aircraft involved in this operation while cruising around at 1,500 ft. sighted a convoy, which they attacked from 60 ft. Shortly afterwards the engine of this aircraft started to overheat before seizing, compelling the pilot to make a forced landing. The aircraft made a good forced landing, the engine having seized up the spark plugs on one side of the engine were blown out.

Armament: two MG 17 mounted over the engine and two 20 mm cannon mounted in the wings. A 250 kg bomb had been carried under the fuselage but had been dropped. 50 rounds of 7.9 mm and 60 rounds of 20 mm had been fired.

A form of engine boosting system in the form of three cylinders fitted in the cockpit were found.

The pilot of this aircraft was considerably experienced and had shot down a Blenheim on 20th May 1941 bringing his Geschwader's victories up to 100. His personal tally was twenty six in 140 War Flights and had been awarded the Golden (110) War Flights Badge. He was Staffelkapitän of the 7th Staffel.
