Original burial of Lt. Roloff’s crew 25th August 1942 (Brownless)
The Staffel stands in front of four freshly dug graves in the German war cemetery to pay their last respects to their comrades Leutnant Hans Roloff, Gefreiter Helmut Schlegel, Gefreiter Gottfried Wannske and Unteroffizier Wolfgang Bischoff, whose flying fate had been fulfilled a few days before. A drum roll sounds out and three shots thunder over the valley as the dead comrades are given over to the cool earth.
