REASON FOR LOSS:


This aircraft was shot down during combat with U.S.A.A.F. bombers, pilot baled out wounded. Later returned to Staffel. Note: Uffz Riehl was also involved in a further two incidents during 1944. The first incident occurred on the 09.06.44 Fw 190A-8 Wnr.730513 Black + 16 returned but was damaged on landing due to Uffz Riehl being wounded.

The final incident was on the 27.12.44 whilst flying Fw 190A-8 Wnr.960293 Black + 4 shot down in combat in the area of Euskirchen, Germany. Uffz Riehl baled out wounded for the third time. Early in 1945 he was flying again in the legendary

He 162 jet fighter until the wars end in May 1945.
